Travel with a purpose

What is an outreach? The outreach phase is the time to apply the things you've learned in class, and share Jesus with people in a country you’ve probably never been to before. This is a time that will challenge you, but in the end, you will be stronger and closer to God. This is eight weeks of life-changing opportunity!
Outreach teams prepare for their trip through things like learning dramas and dances to perform in the streets or for kids; having fun and bonding as a team; learning how to share their testimonies. You will have lots of time to bond as a team before you land in the field, which will help you be more effective on outreach.
Making God KnownEvery outreach is different, depending on where it is. Types of ministry depend on the needs of the local situations, but there will always be a focus on evangelism.  It’s the ‘Making God Known’ part of the DTS. Your team leaders will do all they can to plan for your activities and ministry, but there will always be times when a pastor calls on your team to lead the church service five minutes before it starts. DTS outreach is a great place to learn teamwork, flexibility and what it means to be a "body of Christ." If nothing else, it will keep you on your toes and you'll find that flexibility and a sense of humor will be indispensable for a rewarding experience. No matter where in the world you end up, you’ll never be the same when you’re done.
Where in the world will we go?Outreach locations vary from school to school, but our lates outreach locations have been Fiji, Romania and Guatemala.

Testimonies

Challenges are rewarding

Angela DTS

“The biggest challenge of outreach was the daily sacrifice. To be able to bring the gospel sometimes you have to deny yourself. It was challenging for me but I could see the rewarding part of it, that if we deny ourselves, and make a sacrifice, we can bring the gospel in a more effective way.”
Lucy Horaskova, Czech Republic

What God did in me on outreach

Elise DTS

“I came out of it with so much more of a sense of who I am and I feel like God has prepared me for whatever steps come next. It’s much more about what He’s done in my life and how He’s shaped me internally than the external things I’ve seen.”
Manny Kuphal, Minnesota, USA
